Our last year of independent?
“So we climbed up on the rocky shore / And freaked out on the mountain goats But they were not impressed or scared of us / Do you remember our last summer as independent / Do you remember?”
Another music year has passed. Time for some top albums and hits. It’s chart time at the end of the year, and this tradition has now become more popoular than Queen’s speech or Christmas trees.
This is what Sleepwalkers liked in 2008.

It’s lonely at the Plat
It was inevitable, I suppose. My personal growth into the world of music followed each step of the evolution of rock’n'roll, even though I wasn’t born somehwere in the 40’s during the second world war. Possibily inevitable, just like the chance to escape to the deflagration of some good ol’ classic of rock’n'roll music blasting their simple and immediate guitar riff through time and space. It was rock aronund the clock.
Commercials, hollywood movies, the radio, certaing happy days episode (letteraly) hit me to death. No metter how you try, some bullets just can’t be skipped, and you find yourself wounded at the heart by a handful full of rocks.

Boogie, Woogie & Stomp
Gee. This review was able to shock me in the first place before starting to write it. Strange christmas magic? Pure nonsense? A time paradox? How could it be true? The fact is that when I decided to throw some lines on “Kitty, Daisy & Lewis” I was moved by my attraction for root music r&r and the attonishing good quality of this music. I was ready to do my job and deep my knowledge on that band, expecting to have an hard search on few scattered old news leaving this humble page painted with just the impression of a couple of track of this immaginary band from somwhere near New Orleans in the 50’s.

Absolute Careless ’bout the X
Chrismas shouldn’t be only a mystic time for stupid trees and jingle-jangling chimed-oriented mixtapes. I personally disagree! Hey boy! Hello Girl! Wake up! It’s holiday! Take some time to snoop around the city, the counrtyside, whatever, to impress some magic moments on some new old songs. Staring at the falling snow on your window is fine as well.

Meiko Has Become Eclectic
The Indie culture has recently taken us by storm, and I for one am grasping it firmly with both hands. The soft melodies, made raw and real by the husky, liberated voices of female and male front persons alike are probably the best easy listening a music lover can get after hours listening to the constant thrum of technology and the blur of voices as one moment blends into another each tiresome, endless working day. Indie music can be enjoyed by anyone, it’s just that type of music, where the tune is catchy, a rhythm that sticks in your mind for days following, and the lyrics speak of things everyone can relate to. Charlie Big Time
The Smiths surely have to have meant something in pop music hytory. The new centuty has come, and guess what? Bands are still trying to catch with their mood in some undefined garages. “Charlie Big Time is defineltly one of those. After a well acclamimed mini-cd for Cloudberry, finally we get to listen to their first album: “The Tall Storeys of Charlie Big Time” (Series Two Records).

SuperKicks
Zuni is a very special venue in the city center of Ferrara, one of the cutest little cities in here. A lot of important indie bands played in there, and Superpartner could not step off of this club. Superpartner did a superextended tour thanks to Organetta booking. This was the last live show of the year, and finally the band can enjoy a little bit of rest before kicking off a fantastic new year. Till that day… will miss the guys a lot!
