Hey MEI
There’s a little Italian band called Perturbazione. They’re quite popoulare in Italy for a song called “Agosto”. It goes like that:“Agosto, is the coldes month of the year…”. Don’t know about THERE, but here in Italy November is so full of newelty and events that me & my gang use to sing like that:“November, it’s the indiest month of the year…”
November is also the month MEI takes place.
- some pictures here -
MEI was born as a three days meeting for all the indiependent Italian labels along with conferences and live events. It was cool ’till some years ago. Then every little label used internet to spread its artists, people lost interest in phisically represent their record under a tent, talent started to try to get scouted sending songs as an mp3 attachment, prizes were given only following the rule of underground mobby aims.
There was not a real purpose to get up and go to MEI this years. If not for Indipendulo, an all-day-long live event presenting some of the best indie bands of the moment.
The show was leaded by one of the memebers of Mariposa and the DJ – Opinion Leader Enrico Veronesi.
Here’s some links to some of the most rapresentative bands that played during the event.
A Classic Education
Fake P
Le Man Avec Les Lunettes
Annie Hall
Guess they’re going to take part of our personal soundtrack of month to come.
