Stanley & Freschard
It’s probably the oddest couple in the World of Indie music. It’s Stanley Brinks (a.ka. Andre Herman Düne). She’s the poor little girl from France wandering misplaced around Europe and he’s the former member of Herman Düne, that is possibly the closest thing you may find in music to the idea of Dabonball Muten Roshi having a band. That poor girl is in danger, you may say. Don’t think so.
I first so Freschard one year ago because of my love for the anti-folk band Herman Düne. The two bros of the band are a fake. They fake everything. You may find them on the swedish indie catalogues while only thier mother is from that country and they weren’t even born in there, and now the jewish bros have probably agreed that the most direct way to conquer the world is to split their competences in half, keeping the member of the Wave Pictures in America and leaving Europe and Asia to Andre along and the young girl, who will be able to come back to Argentina to find her mother once she’ll grow up. Well. Guess what. One year ago I came to see Herman Dune (guess what, they still use that name to attract people, at least owner’s do) and once I felt betrayed by the line up I had to prove I was wrong by getting in touch with this genious french girl.
Another clue. You will find Freschard CDR only at their live show. This makes their shows (two simple electric guitars) even precious rather then just initimal. I asked the girl for a With David Tattersall Herman Düne CD, I got last Freschard work in return (simply because she told me that she was good). She was fucking right. “Click Click” (that’s the name of the album) was one of my top 10 albums of 2007. Each song an inspired pearl, giving us the picture of a small World throwing a view from a strange kind of autumnal emotional thirst. It’s useless to say that – as for the live shows – the girl wins.
A year has passed. The team got back to Italy and it was party time again. I was not too much impressed by the new songs (telling the truth I got a little bit bored), as I expected new material as good as the songs from “Click Click”. Still a good show anyway. And this once it went for good Andre. Here’s some pics and clips
