Square Theme
The Clever Square are two young blocks from Ravenna. They are very young, but – despite from their age – they soon started proposing to their pubblic a lysergic folk inspired by new american folk singers, Eels, Owen, but, above all, the Elephant 6 collective. In my opinion they’re really really close to what might “Beat Happening” have sounded if landed in Italy for some distorted twist of fate.
Gec and Ste, the singer/guitar player and the bass man, are now backed up by Edo, usually on bass, leaving Ste free to emprove his drumming. As they’re really young it’s cool see the music of the band grow each live show with the members of the band. Seems like seing the ghost of a great band behind’em on any new occasion. Hanging like a pendulum from a soft and geeky version of Nirvana to an early Pixies prototype, here’s some pics & clips from “The Clever Square”. Leave us some feedback!
