Peace in Our Time
“Peace in our time”. If a universal quotes competition was ever meant to be that sentence would surely get on the top 10, not so far from “All you need is love” and “Carpe diem”. That sentence is not only a quote from Neville Chamberlain, but it happens to be the name of a band from * guess what * SWEDEN!
Sweet guitar melodies running on 6th, voice tuned as much as suffices, lo-fi sounds drum loops. The new old magic of indie-pop having its moments again. After some remixes, compilations (Series Two) and the mighty Cloudberry, finally “Peace In Our Time” managed to complete a full album, by the clever title “A Glimpse of Happiness”. My favourite song so far remains “Tiger” , with that hypnotig guitar riff on the opening hand in hand with that pure, innocent and effective old casio-machine-disco-beat drum. Ideas and melodies are all it takes. With a little effort by some heaven sent production to work on the sounds, It wouldn’t take much to raise these songs to the sky. Then we would truly have true “peace in our time”.
Johan Regnér, the only member of the band, has got a lot of songs to share with you. You can check them out here.
