The Mare
They are indie people, they’re still alive (they will have a gig on Hamburg next July), they sing out of tune just like the other tweeters, they got chinglin’ melodic guitar arpeggios, they come from Sweden, still they’ve got a super-power very few blokes around owns that made Irene so popular. Oh yessah! They’ve got a trumpet! (It’s not a twist of fate that one of their song is name aftar that)
The band is named “The Mare”, and became quite a legend to have packed up and go from Sweden rrright to London to play on a “Twee as Fuck” exhibition and a vivace und unforgettable Emmaboda Festivalen live act.
Twinky-Clinky guitars, unrealistic telegram transmissions and oblique choirs,“Were were you” it’s pure brit-pop with a beetle on top. “You Know” just sparklin aperitivo joy (whatever this is supposed to mean). Still the melanconic sounds from “Didn’t see you” makes THAT song my favourite of the band so far.
