An Hi-Life Companion
Yeah. That’s right. An Hi-Life Companion. Cause there are always moments in time anybody should need one. Whatever he’s supposed to be. A sophisticated gorgeoud lady opening doors in Montecarlo, just a friend to hang out with pub-spotting on a saturday night, in my case… a band to brighten up my days!
Matt and Jon Troy (ex “Airport Girl” drummer), Melissa Collins, John Pelps, Dave Toole, Abi and Russel Scott, Mark Freeth (ex “Mayfield” drummer) are “The Hi-Life Companion” from Bristol (the land of “Santa Dog”) and they seem the right gang to bring the joy in. The band (sponsor of Bristol Rovers FC) was on the “Cloudberry rooster” via “Times Table” (Cloudberry 35). Tracks like “Time Table” and the brilliant “Night Comes Down” seems to show a precise attitude for joyful folk strummed guitars, clear sof voices in early R.E.M. stlye, aberrant instrumentation and deep plaing organs making tracks floating on a soft pop coloured musical bubble. Not forgetting nice and cleaver lyrics included on the course. Aside you’ll get the sereotyped“You’re The Greatest” marching its way on overstepped paths BUT anyway pleasing with a nice guitar solo riff and an ace golckenspiel act (few hits, but making the difference).
Stay in tune for more Hi-Life tunes. Plastilina Records (They like indiepop in Peru too) is finally goin to release their first long album.
