shake the ground…
..it’s what these guys do to the floors in my house anyway. “The Daysleepers” have found a way into my home, into my car and without doubt, deep in my heart. It’s hard not to turn it up and clock-out.. or my favorite Daysleeper pastime, sit in the tub with the lights off and experience the sound and vision that is, The Daysleepers.

Channel Owls
It’s hard to get out from the colourful wold of “The Owls” once you’ve entered the fabulous imaginery of their works. And which kind of animal is more adeguate to introduce us to a fairy tail, or guide us through the fashinating melodies of spellbound melody? Soft fashoinable synths à-la-stereolab on jingle-janglin’ melodies that would made Devics and Grandaddy producers quite proud, here’s my interview with Allison LaBonne.

of Three Chicagos and an Avalanche
His voice has the tendency to silence any lull; dampen the spin of any room. Indie genius Sufjan Stevens is a lyricist capable of narrating souls and a musician able to meld intonations into thoughts.
“The Avalanche“, released in 2006, is comprised of the musical outtakes from his fifth album, “Come On Feel The Illinoise”. (more…)

Making Filmstars
The soft ballad “Hospital Ward” (and its video) really touched my heart, like wasn’t since the brit-pop-war era and Blur’s “Coffee and TV”. Can’t remember how I got in touch with this terrific band known as “Beatnik Filmstars“. Was it thanks Dan’s listening? Not sure, but since I’m addicted to their songs now I’m in big trouble. If you don’t wanna start being obsessed just like me just read this interview avoiding to listen to their mesmerizing istant classics. I warned you! (more…)

And I thank you…
It was defenetly above all my expectations. I fell in love with “Pink Mountaintops” after hearing the song “Vampires”. I came to listening to the whole album of this kind of side project from “Black Mountain“ and I was totally impressed. (more…)

You are getting sleepy… very sleepy… are you sleepy?
I try to live my life as regret free-fully as possible, but as anyone with a heart knows, it is impossible to be void of all regrets, all the time. A few of my biggest:
- buying tickets for concerts that i think that I’ll be able to go to, but then ending up unable to attend for whatever reason. not only because it is a giant waste of money, but also because i most undoubtedly end up missing a great live music experience.
- dropping out of college. (more…)

Nothing Like Bambi
OH DEAR! There have been people playing video game music before the Crystal Castles? Well, I’m sure you know, there has been. But, a buddy of mine was actually offended by me sending some different, more experimental, sounds. While this group happens to blow the Crystal’s out of the water… people are getting upset with their sound? How can this be? People mistakenly take them to be copycats, but really, kittens, this duo was around long before (as many other bands have been too)! (more…)

Isn’t him Funny? Meet John from 1990’s
First time I heard about 1990’s I didn’t even know their name. Still I was twisting and shouting to the rolling hot guitar riff of “You’re supposed to be my friends”, pitching my voice at the top just like the indie-dancefloor were burning right under our feets. Adult boys acting totally insante. That’s what this band was capable of. Years passed, and the guys are back in town with a new album. I had the chance to have a little chatty-chat with their leader John McKeown. That’s what we got. (more…)

What Will Replace MTV?
Traditional radio listeners are switching to satellite radio and on-line listening options like Last.fm, Pandora, and Live365. Increasing numbers of music fans from around the world know to crawl Pitchfork, MOG, Hype Machine, and Elbo.ws for tracks from their favourite artists, news, and to get new recommendations. The on-line versions of music magazines like Rolling Stone and NME are being favored over their in-print counterparts. So, where does this leave music videos?
