Nothing Like Bambi
OH DEAR! There have been people playing video game music before the Crystal Castles? Well, I’m sure you know, there has been. But, a buddy of mine was actually offended by me sending some different, more experimental, sounds. While this group happens to blow the Crystal’s out of the water… people are getting upset with their sound? How can this be? People mistakenly take them to be copycats, but really, kittens, this duo was around long before (as many other bands have been too)!
I did a little digging and have seen them getting more and more press. I love it, they love, and we love them. Oh that’s right, I have to tell you who now! Kap Bambino, the boy/girl duo from Bordeaux, France, has been perking up ears well before our young Canadian friends (don’t get me wrong, we have love for them too). Caroline Martial and Orion Bouvier first reeled me in with their single “Save” from the debut album, Zero Life, Night Vision, on their own record label, Wwilko Recordings. Their raunchy electronic, arcade-like sound and restless vocal spasms are sure to get your blood pumping and body bruised up on the dance floor. Their album is none stop energy and lucky for you, they are on tour in Europe now. So if you can, pick up one of their wild performances and even get a little dirty yourself.
Kap Bambino has just released another single: “Red Sign”. Check it out!

Kap Bambino is amazing. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than crystal castles – and original as fuck. If you actually listen to their original recordings, you will see that their sound is ever changing. Live performances are out of this world – little Caroline has more energy than a speed freak running for the next fix. I am happy to hear that other people feel the same way as I do. Just wait until they break into the mainstream … people will start changing their minds – just like they did with Crystal Castles.
