And I thank you…
It was defenetly above all my expectations. I fell in love with “Pink Mountaintops” after hearing the song “Vampires”. I came to listening to the whole album of this kind of side project from “Black Mountain“ and I was totally impressed. Almost a super-collective-band, “Pink Mountaintops” managed to gather indie-pop follower along with desert and classic-folk lovers, surprisingly calling A BUNCH of people on Hana-Bi Beach, wicker chairs, disappeared behind a pressed and passionate crowd taken away by the compact, warm and almost perfect sound of the band driven by the impressive Stephen McBean voice.
The show has seen the opening act by “Buzz Aldrin“, a young post-punk band from the area. It was nice to see members of “Pink Mountains” hanging around the beach the day after. Maybe the Canadian band found their California in there. Or then again there’s a strong possibility that they spent all their money in beer.
As far as I know Summer may as well end here. I already had my best musical vacation moment of 2009.
