shake the ground…
..it’s what these guys do to the floors in my house anyway. “The Daysleepers” have found a way into my home, into my car and without doubt, deep in my heart. It’s hard not to turn it up and clock-out.. or my favorite Daysleeper pastime, sit in the tub with the lights off and experience the sound and vision that is, The Daysleepers.
They are one of the best mentionable “nugaze” bands that I’ve heard in past years. The way they pull you in and get in your body like an i.v. constantly dosing you with an endless flow of bliss.. whether you are happy, depressed or not feeling much of anything.. it’s hard to not feel something. I’d be so brave to say that they make music for no one but themselves. An authentic expression of true emotion. What else can you ask for from any musician..
“The Daysleepers” were formed in Buffalo New York in 2004 and currently reside there. For the past five years as a band they have self-released EP’s under their “Rain Delay Music” imprint and “White Rabbit Records”. The band finally signed on to a major label (in my eyes anyway) called “Clairecords” and released their first full-length album. If you like dream-pop, shoegaze, new-gaze, ambient and ethereal music and you’re a music junkie, like myself.. chances are you are familiar with “Clairecords“. I’m pretty sure The Daysleepers are honored to be on the label and the feeling’s were exchanged mutually.
