Respect the cat
“Two years have passed since our first release. two years during which we listened to a lot of music, we fell in love with a lot of artists, we bought a lot of vinyls and cds; two years in which we imagined what we wanted our second release to be, and we worked hard to make it real.”
Sometime you just have to accept that good things still got the power to surprise you with the right amount of chances bad things got. After so many unexpected bad news, here’s a good one right out of the blue. Call it destiny, call it a sign, the first time I played on a stage with my band – two years ago – I wore a red red shirt with the words “INDIE POP FUCKED UP MY MIND” on it. 2 year passed, and over dozen and dozen of shirts stocked on my drawers today I picked that very shirt. The shirt was meant to promote an Italian indie label called “Black*Kitten Records”. Owned by two friends of mine, it’s a very unique and peculiar project. The label produce only 7″ vinyl splits from obscure sweden bands. Guess what? After almost anybody gave up the chances to see a single release starting to become “a collection”, rightaway the day I wore the shirt * BANG * a “Number 2″ is out!
The very classy choice of “Meow 001″ was represented by the sweet melodies of Detektivbyrån (”Laka-koffa”)
and Hemstad (”Tuff ungdom”). The following little cattle brother “Meow 002″ introduces us to “Darren Hayman” (”The bands that don’t reform”) and Antony Harding (”A soft place”).
Since vinyls are really hard, expecially to copy, I suggest you to support a good indipendent production and buy the 7″ here. Shirt and buttons are aviable as well. Don’t be shy! So many Vi Ai Pi are friend of the cat.
