It’s a fine art
If you’re into indie music and the juicy fruity pop selections form your favourite friday indie club, “The Fine Arts Showcase”, Malmö, surely needs no introduction. Yet another Editor clone? Maybe, but provided with an heart, beating for ketchy dancable toones and good ideas. Let’s find out the head and the heart of the band then, and get to know Mr. Gustaf Kjellvander. (more…)

Back to Diaframma
“Diaframma” was quite a thing in the middle of the ’80s in Italy. This band from Florence never reached the top of the charts indeed (possibly obscured but another great band from the area called “Litfiba”), but their debut album “Siberia” managed to emerge from our little history of niche-rock for its desperate, uncommon and sophisticated lyrics finding a not-so-unexpected comeback some years ago thanks to a massive dark-wave discovery and revival. The Elements Within Roxie
We already introduced you to the young talented electronic artist Marilyn Roxie , and we’re here today to talk back ’bout her own vision of art, experimentation and music. That isn’t her anymore. At least not totally, since she decided to collaborate via internet with other artist who embraced her unique way to make out and record music. (more…)

Time is a Wound, Music a balm
“And whats wrong with that? ” ~ Paul McCartney
What surprises me the most of the über active Matt Williams – in arte “The Brigadier” - is the astonishing quality of his music and his unexplicable condition of not-for-the-masses related music in the UK top-of-the-pop scenario. It’s really quite discouraging for anyone doing music seeing an artist like “The Brigadier” (or “Semble”, even “Santa Dog”, to bring some other random name in) not being spotted out by media for their talent and musical potential. It’s quite like having to throw an eye on a junkyard for a Ferrari when you expect to see it in a museum in Maranello. (more…)

It’s so cold in Polynya
Many persons still believe that Frankenstein was the name of the creature, not the creator. They’re wrong. An artist’s creature is able to catch the gist of our inner secrets, and once we provide him legs is able to walks on his own and take’em away. Artists can only be awared of their path and try to catch their traces. That’s what lead Dr. Frank to Polynia, the seas of the North Pole. (more…)

Hey Weirdo! It’s Belladonna!
There is more than a peculiar constance on the fresh Vandal Records productions. Cool punk girls, lot of party energy… and random hints on Italian catchy words! My attention was already taken by a band called “The Kiara Elles” with an interesting song called “Odio” (that’s “Hate” in English), now it’s the turn of a band from Leed (and from the same rooster too) called “Belladonna” (don’t think that any translation’s needed anyway). (more…)

Wilco People
“It’s a secret I can’t tell, there’s a witch downour well. I don’t care anymore…”
I wasn’t asked and still I’m gonna put myself in the most dangerous situation I could get during this summer: reviewing Wilco 2009, a new masterpiece from a band that needs no introduction to people listening to bands that doesn’t even exists yet. Wilco is not a band. (more…)

Tinted Windows, Empty Walls
Oy! Don’t get me wrong! Nothing fails in Tinted Windows music! It’s actually quite catchy and very radiophonic indeed, with classic rock ballads, clean sounds and a sweet pitched voice on Def Leppard stlya and dummy drums on perpetual “My Sharona Mode” on. What makes the difference between this band and – pfff – Manic Street Preachers? (more…)

I adore you Melpo Mene
I suppose this is gonna be just another Kermit presentation to the real guest of the show, one artist I’m admiring so much that I’m quite ashamed to have him here replying to my silly questions on life and music. But here it is. “I adore you” is the PERFECT SONG everyone would have written but that nobone will beat in years. From Stockholm – Sweden – ladies and gentlemen here’s Erik from Melpo Mene. (more…)

Final Tap
“It was a good idea at the time, now it’s just a brilliant mistake” ~Elvis Costello.
“Give me reincarnation… or give me death!!” ~Spinal Tap
First time I’ve seen’em was on the massive event “The Freddie Mercurie Tribute”. It was the Wayne’s World era, and they were the Yankovichesque band “The Spinal Tap”, playing “Majesty of Rock”, from their second official album. The VJ was so busy pointing out how their bass player wasn’t even actually playing the bass, hitting the same chord all over again at the same time until the end of the song. (more…)
