TCS: That’s all (in the lyrics)
“It feels great!” (Enrico, the new drummer, being asked how does it feels playing with The Clever Square)
Guess I can call myself lucky. You never know what to expect when you’re walking on a cold city covered by a snow trying to get some repair from a bad dark weather evening. You just push to the entrance of a cheap winotheque (a pub, I just made up the word in case you’re wondering) to get an unavailable glass of Porto, when you see one of the youngest promises of the Italian indie scene playing behind wooden tables crowded by such a young audience making us ashamed of our presence even claiming our fake age. (that’s it, we’re old!). Here they were: The Clever Square.
Main surprise was given by hearing the new line up with Stefano back to a (brand new) bass, Giacomo leading the band with his guitar as always and Enrico as a very punctual and sharp drummer. Each time we hear The Clever Square playing live they’ve got a different kind of sund. Blame it on the bass distortions, but this time was Pixies! A lot of new tracks were shown off, and we got happy hearing back some classics like “I Did Not Mean To Fall Asleep While We Were Having Sex” and “Porn movie”. The new addiction has given strenght to the band, and we hope to hear from then soon, hopefully not in a place with people aguing:”Does they lyrics really mean something? Because, you know, take the Beatles: they are nonsense”.
