Skinning Bears With Redwing Blackbird
The Sumner Night Chapel in Keene New Hampshire was packed to the point of standing room only with the faithful, on Saturday 1/16/10, for the release of NH based Redwing Blackbird’s new album, That River Skinned A Bear. Joining them, with an amazing story, was veteran yarn weaver Sherwin Sleeves and a performance by the fantastic Vermont based folk duo Red Hart The Ticker. A solo performance by banjo and guitar wielding wonder Sam Amidon rounded out the evening.
The show was purely acoustic, utilizing the outstanding natural resonance of the old chapel, and the proceeds went towards restoring the chapel into a venue even more suited for events. This was the first of many events planned to benefit the chapel and the coming artists have some massive shoes to fill following this amazing evening with its knock out collection of artists.
