It’s cool to be skulls
I must admit that I knew so few about “Band of skulls”. I just listened to a couple of tracks on a random social network and decided that if it took so much for them coming to Italy from Southampton (I heard them chat at dinner and I thought their fat asses were from NY) a visit to the show would have been a cool way to spend a Friday night. Most people gathered to Hana-Bi (“the summer place to be”) mainly because of the band involvement with The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack. I hopefully didn’t, so I had the chance to decide to go there and enjoy a real good piece of good’old hard’n'roll music, with 3 talented musicians still capable of show an audience what’s a rock’n'roll live show should be capable of.
Good band dynamics, the craziest amazing drummer I’ve ever seen since Peter Mitton and Animal from Muppet, the shiny deep and remarkable voices of Russell Marsden and Emma Richardson, also fine electric guitar and bass players, an assorted fits-full of variegated songs able to reach the whole spectrum of pop music archetypes, made Band of Skulls show quite and excellent, funny and pleausurable show to see. Getting rid of that idiotic Hell’s Angel’s look could really their greatest leap on their career after opening for Muse.
