Indietracks 2010 (Pt.1)
Indietracks it’s a lot more than a festival. IndieTracks is Woodstock without sex, drugs and – fortunately – no mud. At least for this year’s edition! THE festival is a lot more of the simple sum of the whole bands that were in it (the lucky blue bracelet ones). The festival equals the real experience to live, at least if you’re ok with twee music and the idea that nativity and art still deserves a place between the rock and the roll. (more…)

Fran Healy – Buttercups
Here is the first solo single from Fran Healy from Travis, taken from his debut solo album Wreckorder, to be released this October. It’s a very excellent debut single, and fans of Travis should also love this. It is bound to attract the usual criticism of a lead singer of a band starting a solo career, but this is not the end of Travis, Fran is just on holiday from the band. It should even maybe open them up to an even greater audience, as it’s a fine piece of work. (more…)

Partybenders
Some months ago, I think it was winter since I felt really melancholic and I didn’t sweat, I was quite intrigued by a band called The Morning Benders. Gee. It HAD to bee winter, possibly autumn, since the only thing I remembered reading that name on Hana-Bi calendar was that I knew I liked them, still I had no idea ’bout who they were anymore. (more…)

Give yourself another fountain rag
“Do you feel far too old and far too sad, and you feel it should be over by now?”
Having Ragnhild Hogstad Jordahl willing to carry on and writing songs, is like being sure to holding on to something really solid and safe while tracking your years as indie fan. First time I even heard mentioning her name was during one of the first gigs of the Italian indie band “Le Man Avec Les Lunettes“. (more…)

Tree-V
On nowadays music scene, with everyone trying to monkeey all the possible stereotypes of the scene, that is the everlasting Franz Ferdinand clones in fuzzed post-punk sauce, it’s quite an unexpected breath of fresh air emerging from a bath in the web and discover bands like “Visions of Trees”, from Londong. And I wouldn’t even define their music ’80s Retro Electro-Nostalgia or New-Jungle Psychedelia, nor even video game music. Their music is just brave, and classy. ‘t was enough for me to try and interview’em. (more…)
