Vermillion Sands
First time I’ve stumbled on “Vermillion Sands” was a live performance on a YouTube Video. I didn’t ever recall the name, but since I’m really into garage rock and fuzz guitars I was positively impressed by the band.

This Year’s Model: Niklas Gustafsson interview
Niklas Gustafsson is such an amazing artist. He’s into so many musical projects that I’m not surprised anymore each time I realize I missed one of them! Got to know Nilkas better thanks to his electro-pop band “Friday Bridge”, during the hottest moment of “the indie-era explosion”. (more…)

An interview with Gentle Tuesday, hem, The Splendour, hum… The Orchids!
Charlie Levels, my dear friend from Paislie & Carlie The Band, has recently written a brilliant review on the cult indie band The Orchids. The Scottish twee pop band got popular in the ’80s almost thanks the notorious cherry niche label Sarah Records, and never stopped to amaze fans ’till then. Following the wave of Charlie’s review, here’s a quick interview with Orchids guitar Keith Sharp.

Casey Harvey from Thrushes
Thrushes is a young band from Baltimore. Sounds, haircut and vibes mix Santa Dog class, The Joy Formidable energy and Asobi Seksu love for melodies and shoegaze. So what’s the deal with some youngsters from Maryland not playing doo wop or corporate hardcore punk? Let’s find it out with Casey, the guitar player of the band. (more…)

Detox Charlie
Paisley & Charlie are an indie lo-fi pop duo from UK with a real interesting story at their back and a speed highway of new songs and adventures right ahead. I came to know the band thanks their presence at IndieTacks festival 2011 and a collaboration for my little label KinGem Records. The production of their side project Detox Cute & The Beauty Junkies it’s the sweetest excuse to ask Charlie a couple of questions. Here we go. (more…)

Press play on Fika
Do you remember the first time you have ever heard a cassette tape? Do you know what this thing made by plastic and reels actually is anyay? Or you had never had the chance to press play on a analogic recording device? (more…)

Annemarie, a nice band from Indonesia
It’s strange how tweemania seems to turn around the World year after year. Most of the “normal” people I know out of my little niche seriously believes that “Indie Music” is dealing with Sitars and Elephants. In a first time I could at least state that “yes, there’s actually an important label called Elefant”, still nowadays my friends from the Real World would be not so far from the truth stating that Indie music is acutally pop music from Asia since cool indie bands from Indonesia are growing in number. (more…)

Windsor for the derby
If post rock has to be the answer, my question should be: what’s next? Possibly Windsor for the Derby! Texas must be the right place for cool bands to meet up and play, since so many excellent bands find the perfect ground to take off from there. (more…)

Still Flyin’… never gonna touch the ground!
Still Flyin’ are possibly the largest pop collective in the World, not in term of numbers of musicians but certainly dealing with the broadest nationality of the different members scattered all around the World. I had the chance to meet the band live one year ago in a litte Italian town and collaborate with Sean Rawls on my U.N.DISCO project for Kingem Records. Still Flyin’ Italian tour is a good chance to have an interview with the Flyin’ mind.

Dear Catastrophes
There’s an old legend in the Northern European town of Bergen, telling that young people freakin’ out on their Friday nightouts, happen to get drunk, casually bump in front of the others in a pub or directly on the road outside, have a big laugh and form a band. That seemed also the story of a new old band called Catastrphes, counting also one of the members of the former Soda Fountain Rag backline: Lars Jakob Stava. We had the pleasure to have few words with him on Catastrophes new Ep.
