Everything Country
Springtime isn’t already began, cold won’t leave, and promises of a shiny future seems to keep distances from our urban views. Yes. We’re heading for passions, we’re heading for freedom, we’re heading for… INDIETRACKS!!! Hem, I meant, the country! Festival, Festival, Festival. This is the only thing I’m capable of thinking of without being censured in public. Still I don’t want no fake plastic beaches and it’s a long way to go, and meanwhile in Texas they’re having fun in quite each corner of Austin I’ll have to stick to what I’ve got. (more…)

Prove d’orchestra
Guess there’s a reason if in a certain moment of history Italy decided to step away from the Eurovision Song Contest and carry alone with Sanremo Festival.
And I guess there’s a reason too if the big stars of the Italian pop music scene decide not to come back to the festival stage, since once they won their diffidence on the system and tried to give it a chance, they found themselves out of the contest to let the most infamous characters built up by television shows take their position at the winning place. That’s right.

Top Album of The Decade 2000-2010
Top album of the decade: a DJ a know made this cleaver joke on the radio that “New Year’sCharts” is indeed the top result once googled the word “Panic”. It was really useful for my antisocial life to make one for SleepWalKing Mag, since I was ready to show it anyone asking me for that like year’s charts are the new Christmas Card to exchange with greetings and gift once you meet some web friend. I actually felt so good not being caught out of the blue… that I even decided to gather in one post the most significant albums of my new life as indie listeners.

Top 10 2009: More charts from the Walkers
2009 soon to be gone. And forgetten? Seems not, since other two Walkers has shown off their top listenings from this rich and chaotic year. Which are the primary colours of the listenings of our reviewers? Here they come! Seems like goths had their revenge at last rising the level of quality and pop humor on their music becoming even more kin on shoegaze and club anthems while folk and experimentation has possibly become the most recognisable mark of most of the top listenings that pretend to be labelled as fine and classy. Posh, possibly? Maybe. (more…)

So long HomeSleep
Just around 2005 in Italy indie scene came to form a certain defined shape. A scene came along thanks to important artists and live shows, independent radio and mysterious television shows (flux!), and an important circle of bloggers that defined the scenario also thanks to coordinated actions with clubs and venues (”Losing my badge” and “The Kids At The Club” naming a few). What’s so scary ’bout music nowadays
Halloween is near, and Wayne Coyne – so proud of his latest multibillionseller delirium – is ready to lead his thousand skeleton ass-branded army just to prove that Flaming Lips are the only band left on this small planet with still something to say. (more…)

These boots were made for SleepWalKing
Moking Georte Harrison, I would say that this year has been a “long hot lonely summer”. Don’t know by you, but here in Italy it was a boredom of unhappening things. America has its Aerosmith, Bat for Lashes, Elvis Costello gigs, Europe had its IndieTracks, but here in Italy August was just a long wait to see Diaframma playing in a theater before the perfect flood broke in carrying cats and dogs with it. I know of girls planning their style for every single parties even a month before its date. Well dears, it’s time to pull in your kinky boots! (more…)

Welcome to the latest installment in this on-going series: Independent Musicians’ Tips!
Tip #2 – Get it Out There: Upload and Tag Everything on Last.fm
Tip #1 – Establish Yourself Online had to do with setting up a website and social-networking profiles for your material. This is an area that you, and/or who’s in charge of managing your sites, will want to continue to improve (adding widgets, adding contacts, occasionally changing up the layout, adding songs, keeping news updated, and so on).
